Welcome to Air Force ROTC Detachment 585! We are located at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Our Detachment proudly serves both Duke University and North Carolina Central University. Our mission is to “Develop Leaders of Character for Tomorrow’s Air Force and Space Force”, promote careers in the U.S. Air Force and Space Force, and to serve as a military educational program for men and women in any major. The ROTC program complements the studies required for your chosen major, and our courses are open to all students whether enrolled in the ROTC program or not.
