Lt Col Liza Theriault
Lt Col Liza Theriault is the Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 585 and Department Chair/Professor of Aerospace Studies at Duke University. She is responsible for overseeing the recruitment and preparation of officer candidates through a comprehensive education and training program. This program develops and produces professional leaders of character, who are dedicated to serving the nation, while leading the United States Air Force and the United States Space Force in the 21st century.
In 2000, Lt Col Theriault commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps. She has served as a section commander, executive officer, military personnel flight commander, operations officer and Force Support Squadron Commander. Her staff tours include duty at Air Combat Command Manpower and Organization Division, as a member of the Pacific Air Forces’ and Twelfth Air Force Commander’s Action Groups, the executive officer to the Twelfth Air Force (Air Forces Southern) Commander, and Chief, Senior Leader Management, Pacific Air Forces. She is a Distinguished Graduate from the Naval War College where she earned Masters of Arts degree in National Security Strategy. She also has a Masters of Science in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior from Troy State University. She has deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
