Lieutenant Colonel Jesse W. Hunt


Lt Col Jesse Hunt holds the position of Professor of Aerospace Studies, Air Force ROTC Commander at Duke University, Durham, NC.  As a Space and Missile Officer, he has served in various operational and staff positions involving nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles, space launch, satellite command and control, space control, national reconnaissance, intelligence and resource planning, programming, budgeting and execution.  Colonel Hunt has served at the squadron, group, wing, numbered Air Force, Headquarters Air Force and Secretary of the Air Force levels. 

Major Chadrick L. Richardson

Operations Flight Commander

Maj Chadrick Richardson holds the position of Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and Operations Officer, Air Force ROTC at Duke University, Durham, NC. As a Cyberspace Officer, he has more than 20 years of experience in various duties and assignments. His previous assignment was as Division Chief for AFSOUTH A6X, Communications Plans and Exercises, overseeing all Air Force communication capabilities in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility. Maj Richardson began his career in 1991, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant before receiving an AFROTC scholarship. He graduated Cum Laude from University of North Texas in 2000 and earned an MBA in 2004, he further earned a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Villanova in 2014.

Major Jody R. Wood

Recruiting Flight Commander

Maj Wood is currently the Recruiting Flight Commander for Detachment 585 where he is responsible for recruitment and retention of new cadets. Previously at Eglin AFB he was the Program Manager for a number of armament related projects. Jody enlisted in the Navy in 1991 as a Hospital Corpsman, where he served 5 years. After graduating from NC State University in 2002 with degrees in Biomedical and Biological Engineering he attended Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, AL. As an Acquisitions Officer, he has served at Wright-Patterson AFB upgrading the B-1’s radar and cockpit displays. In addition, he has worked with the Defense Contract Management Agency-Pratt and Whitney where he led the team that inspected and accepted the engines for the F-15, F-16, F-22, and F-35. He has deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and RESOLUTE SUPPORT.

Technical Sergeant Demond D. Darden

Non-Commissioned Officer-In-Charge

TSgt Demond Darden is the Non-Commissioned Officer-in-Charge (NCOIC) at the detachment.   Originally from Goldsboro, North Carolina, TSgt Darden enlisted in the Air Force in March 2006 as a personnelist.  His previous assignments include Incirlik ABS, Turkey, Moody AFB, Georgia, and most recently Joint Base San Antonio Randolph, Texas where he worked at the Air Force Personnel Center.  TSgt Darden has also deployed to Baghdad, Iraq and Tampa, Fl in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and INHERENT RESOLVE.
